Living proof that backpacking is fun in more ways than one, Boyd Schomaker first met his wife, Maureen, when travelling through Germany in 1971. Then in 2006, as Patina’s business continued to grow, along Maureens passion for Interior design. They joined forces and quickly became a dream team. Building the brand of Patina and growing it into a thriving business. Maureen, a jack of all trades has quickly proven her ability to turn any space into a timeless and stylish forever home for her clients all over the world. Coming from an array of backgrounds such as catering, teaching and much more. Maureen has proven her multiple skill set has perfected her talent for design and renovations. Boyd continues to serve as the manager of the Whistler retail store, as well as the administrator for all renovation and design projects. Boyd happily comes down from his “lair” to chat with customers and to offer his own unique spin on design/decor trends or anything related to dogs, hunting, travel or scotch!

They have quickly become a couple of many talents, along with their dog Winston. \Whom you can visit in store ;)

Maureen is a highly creative individual who has always had a passion for interior decorating and design. Her ability to envision the 'before and after' of a space has always been quick and accurate, which eventually led her to transform her passion into a full-time business. Over the years, she has completed hundreds of decorating and renovation projects of all sizes and budgets, both in Whistler and along the sea to sky. To ensure that her projects are of the highest quality, she has assembled a top-quality professional team that shares her vision and passion for design.

Maureen's focus on customer satisfaction is unwavering and she consistently delivers outstanding projects on time and on budget. As a result, she has become a highly sought-after designer in the industry. Her extensive industry knowledge, creativity, and flair are evident in the unique finds she sources for Patina while travelling the world with Boyd. Maureen takes great pleasure in seeking out interesting and one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect her clients' personalities and style. She leads her team with passion and dedication, ensuring that every project is a true reflection of her clients' vision and style.
